Before you book

  • Despite “Banff” in the title, this trip runs on the Kananaskis River, outside Banff National Park. Meet at the River Base: driving towards the front entrance of the Stoney Nakoda Resort and Casino, look for a wooden structure with a picnic table and red rafts on the left, take the first left, park on the right and walk across the road to check in. Canmore pickup is not included, but a shuttle from Canmore can be booked ahead with the operator.
  • Included: wetsuit, life jacket, helmet, booties and splash jacket, a guide, the bus to and from the river, and a drink afterwards. Photos (on sale 24 to 48 hours later) and gratuities are extra. Cameras, phones, bags and bare feet are not allowed; bring swimwear, a towel, a change of clothes and warm layers.
  • Not suitable for children under 5 or under 20 kg (44 lbs), pregnant women, or anyone over 159 kg (350 lbs). Everyone must complete a waiver online before the trip; a parent or guardian signs for under-18s.
  • This is a summer trip. In October 2026 the operator's own site said its 2026 season was over and 2027 bookings would open soon, though the booking calendar showed a date on 3 November 2026; confirm with the operator before booking an autumn date. Cancellation, as listed: “Cancel up to 2 days in advance for a full refund”.
