Banff: Mount Norquay 2.5 or 4-Hour Guided Via Ferrata Climb
Before you book
- Check in at Mount Norquay, which the listing puts 10 minutes from Banff; a free shuttle bus from downtown Banff is included. Arrive at least 30 minutes before your start, sign the waiver, collect your harness, lanyards and helmet, and ride the sightseeing chairlift to the start.
- Explorer: 2 to 2.5 hours, 1 km and 145 m of climb to 2,235 m. Ridgewalker: 3.5 to 4 hours, 1.4 km and 260 m of climb to the 2,300 m summit ridge. Both cross the 30 m suspension bridge. No experience is needed, and there is one guide for every eight climbers.
- Minimum age 12, and weight between 40 and 120 kg (88 to 264 lb); not suitable for people with mobility impairments. Staff must approve your footwear: hiking boots and rainwear can be borrowed free, though sizes are not guaranteed. Tips, food and drinks are extra.
- The listing gives no season; on 7 October 2026 the first open date was 8 October. The listing does not mention the national park pass (2026: CA$12.25 an adult a day, free for 17 and under). Cancellation, as listed: “Cancel up to 2 days in advance for a full refund.”
