From Banff: Columbia Icefield Tour with Glacier Skywalk
Before you book
- Pickup and drop-off are at Banff hotels. Included: the Ice Explorer and Columbia Icefield Skywalk tickets, a hot buffet lunch at the Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre, light snacks and drinks on board, a guide, taxes and fees. Gratuities are not included.
- On the glacier you get about 20 minutes on the ice, inside a marked area; away from the tour, Parks Canada says walking on the Athabasca Glacier is not safe. The listing suggests warm layers, gloves, waterproof shoes, a windbreaker and a bottle to fill with glacier water.
- Pursuit runs the Ice Explorer and Skywalk from 1 May to 12 October in 2026 and lists 1 May to 11 October for 2027. The tour runs rain or shine; the Skywalk's audio devices are not handed out in rain.
- Not recommended for people with limited mobility and not suitable for wheelchair users; no pets. Cancellation, as listed: “Cancel up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund”.
