Jasper: Columbia Icefield Skywalk and Ice Explorer Ticket

Before you book
- This is a ticket, not a tour: you make your own way to the Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre on the Icefields Parkway, 128 km north of Lake Louise and 104 km south of Jasper (Parks Canada). There is no public transit there. Adventure guests park in the lower Jasper-side lot and climb 75 stairs, or take an alternative path; accessible parking is in the upper Banff-side lot (Pursuit).
- The ticket covers the shuttle to the glacier, the Ice Explorer with live English commentary and about 20 minutes on the ice inside a marked area, then the shuttle to the Columbia Icefield Skywalk with a multilingual audio guide, not handed out in rain. The Ice Explorer is not sold on its own (Pursuit). Away from the tour, Parks Canada says walking on the Athabasca Glacier is not safe.
- The Columbia Icefield Adventure runs from 1 May to 12 October in 2026, 10 am to 4 pm in October, weather permitting; Pursuit lists 1 May to 11 October for 2027. Tours leave every 15 to 30 minutes. Weather can move or cancel a tour, and the listing promises a refund if it cannot be rescheduled. Washrooms are at the centre only.
- Not included: food and drink, and the national park pass, which you need to drive the Icefields Parkway even without stopping (CA$12.25 per adult per day in 2026, free for 17 and under). Pets, luggage and large bags are not allowed; bring warm layers, gloves and a waterproof jacket.
- Accessible tours need at least 72 hours' notice through the operator's own website. Cancellation: the listing records no free cancellation and gives no terms.
