Jasper: Columbia Icefield Skywalk

4.3 (1,069 verified reviews)

Before you book

  • You make your own way to the Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre on the Icefields Parkway, 128 km north of Lake Louise and 104 km south of Jasper (Parks Canada). There is no parking at the Skywalk: the included shuttle from the centre, leaving every 15 to 30 minutes, is the only way to reach it.
  • The walkway is about a kilometre long and leads to a glass-floored platform about 280 m above the valley floor, 35 m out from the cliff (Pursuit). The multilingual audio guide depends on availability and is not handed out in rain. Washrooms are at the centre; there are none at the Skywalk.
  • The Skywalk is open from 1 May to 12 October in 2026, 11 am to 5 pm in October, and closed in winter; Pursuit lists 1 May to 11 October for 2027. It may not run in bad weather.
  • Not included: food and drinks, and the national park pass needed to drive the Icefields Parkway (CA$12.25 per adult per day in 2026). Accessible visits need 72 hours' notice through the operator's website. Cancellation: the listing records no free cancellation and gives no terms.
