Jasper: Wildlife and Sightseeing Tour with Lakeshore Hike

Before you book

  • Hotel pickup is only for registered guests at the 26 listed properties. Everyone else meets at the Two Brothers Totem Pole across from the Jasper Park Info Centre (500 Connaught Drive), 15 minutes before departure. You travel in an air-conditioned minibus, and the listing gives about six hours.
  • The day stops at Medicine Lake, then takes a guided nature walk of 2 to 3 km along the Maligne Lake shore and back through the forest, with time at the Maligne Lake Day Lodge. There is no boat cruise. The listing says snow or ice, especially early in the season, may change the walk or the stops, and Parks Canada notes that Medicine Lake drains to a mudflat in fall and winter.
  • Wildlife is never guaranteed. In Jasper in 2026, within 400 m of a road, people must keep 100 m from bears, cougars and wolves and 30 m from elk, moose, sheep and goats unless they stay inside a legally positioned vehicle (fines up to CA$25,000; Parks Canada).
  • Not included: optional gratuities and meals; bring snacks or a packed lunch (food may be available at Maligne Lake) and supportive walking shoes. It runs in all weather and needs a minimum number of guests (if it is cancelled you are offered an alternative or a full refund). Not suitable for people with mobility impairments; no pets; under-18s must be with an adult. The listing gives no season of its own; on 7 October 2026 its calendar showed 8 October. Cancellation, as listed: “Cancel up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund”.
