Jasper: Wildlife and Sightseeing Tour with Maligne Cruise

4.8 (704 verified reviews)

Before you book

  • Hotel pickup is only for registered guests at the listed properties. Everyone else meets at the Two Brothers Totem Pole across from the Jasper Park Info Centre (500 Connaught Drive), 15 minutes before departure. You travel in a 24-seat minibus, and the listing gives about six hours.
  • The listing says an outside supplier runs the cruise, and Maligne Lake's cruise season ends on 11 October in 2026 (Pursuit). The listing gives no season of its own, so a later date cannot include the cruise; ask the operator before booking. Walking on Spirit Island is not permitted, the cruise operator's rule, out of respect for Spirit Island's significance to the Stoney Nakoda First Nation.
  • Wildlife is never guaranteed. In Jasper in 2026, within 400 m of a road, people must keep 100 m from bears, cougars and wolves and 30 m from elk, moose, sheep and goats unless they stay inside a legally positioned vehicle (fines up to CA$25,000; Parks Canada). Parks Canada also notes that Medicine Lake drains to a mudflat in fall and winter.
  • Not included: food, drinks and gratuities; the listing suggests a packed lunch. Under-18s must be with an adult. The tour runs in all weather and needs a minimum number of guests (if it is cancelled you are offered an alternative or a full refund). Not suitable for people with mobility impairments; no pets. Cancellation, as listed: “Cancel up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund”.
