The Banff Stargazing Tour

Before you book
- Meet the guide, who holds a clipboard, outside the Welcome Building in the Cave and Basin National Historic Site parking lot, 309 Cave Avenue in Banff; the listing says parking is free. There is no hotel pickup.
- The start time follows sunset, so it moves through the year; the operator contacts you 12 to 24 hours before with the time. If heavy cloud is forecast the tour does not run, and the listing says you are refunded.
- The walk is about 5 km on local trails. Headlamps are provided, and ice cleats when the trail needs them; wear hiking shoes. Guides carry bear spray. Not suitable for children under 8, in pregnancy, or for people with mobility impairments, pre-existing medical conditions or recent surgery; pets and alcohol are not allowed.
- Night wildlife is a chance the listing mentions, not a promise. Food and drink are not included, and the listing does not mention the national park pass (2026: CA$12.25 an adult a day, free for 17 and under). Cancellation, as listed: “Cancel up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund.”
